The Forge Group USA is the Sole and Exclusive US importer and distributor of a range of extremely Fire Retardant Fabrics supplied by ‘Firetexx’, based in the Netherlands.
The fabrics come in a variety of weights, colors and levels of translucency and are specifically designed for a variety of applications including Draft Stops in commercial and industrial buildings, Translucent Fire Protection working as Skylight Covers and The TIGNIS.
The TIGNIS is our vehicular fire blanket, currently used by Fire departments in Europe, and recently introduced into the US by the three principles of The Forge Group USA, Jorgen Nieuwhoff, Scott Brown and David Loughborough.
The TIGNIS an alternative to conventional firefighting methods. The blanket is deployed by as few as 2 trained and equipped fire fighters in order to extinguish or contain a passenger car while fully engulfed in fire. Within minutes, the temperature on the outside of The TIGNIS is reduced far enough to hold a bare hand close to the fabric. 20 Minutes later the fire is under control. The TIGNIS eliminates the need for water, foam, messy clean up and has no negative impact on the environment!
Think TIGNIS in a close proximity situation like a Parking Structure, where the fire may be hard to reach. All of the fabrics in our range have been tested to NFPA 701 Standards, 2010 edition as well as CAA/FAR 25.853 (Federal Aviation Regulations). Research and Development is continued on a daily basis and we are working closely with the manufacturer of the fabrics, so we can design fabrics to be tailored to any specific need.
